Net monthly pay
  • Industrial accident insurance (산재보험) is 100% employer-paid, so it is not deducted from your salary and does not appear here. Employees contribute only to National Pension, Health (incl. long-term care), and Employment insurance.
  • Income tax follows the National Tax Service 근로소득 간이세액표 (withholding estimate). Your real tax is settled at year-end (연말정산), where deductions for insurance, medical, education, donations etc. apply — so your actual burden is usually lower.
  • National Pension is capped at the ₩6.37M/month contribution ceiling (valid through Jun 2026). Rate is 4.75% (2026 reform, employee share of 9.5%).
  • Assumes a standard employee. Non-taxable allowances (meal, childcare, vehicle) reduce both insurance and tax — enter taxable pay only.

How this calculator works

This tool estimates your monthly net pay from your gross taxable salary, using 2026 rates.

  • National Pension — 4.75% of pay, capped at the ₩6.37M monthly contribution base.
  • Health insurance — 3.595%, plus long-term care at 13.14% of the health premium.
  • Employment insurance — 0.9%.
  • Income tax — withheld per the National Tax Service simplified table (간이세액표), based on your salary, dependents, and children aged 8–20.
  • Local income tax — 10% of the income tax.

Industrial accident insurance (산재보험) is paid entirely by the employer, so it never reduces your salary.

Worked example. A ₩3,500,000 gross salary (1 dependent, no children): National Pension ₩166,250 · Health ₩125,820 · Long-term care ₩16,530 · Employment ₩31,490 · Income tax ₩127,220 · Local income tax ₩12,720. Net take-home ≈ ₩3,019,970 — about 86.3% of gross.

Frequently asked

  • Why is my real take-home different? The simplified table is only a withholding estimate. Your final tax is settled at year-end (연말정산), where insurance, medical, education and other deductions apply — usually lowering your burden.
  • Is severance (퇴직금) included? No. Severance is separate from monthly pay — use the severance calculator.
  • What is never deducted? Industrial accident insurance (employer-paid) and non-taxable allowances such as a meal allowance up to ₩200,000.
  • How often do the numbers change? Rates reset every January; the 2026 pension reform raised the National Pension rate, and the simplified tax table was revised on March 1, 2026.
